Some died of a life lived well and some didn’t. At the time I didn’t understand why you went away. My heart broke. I was not alone in this. Each one of you left broken hearts. Shattered. I now look back with fondness and so much love that you were in my life for some time. Each one of you had so much purpose for me. Grandparents who raised and loved me and did all they could. Friends who told great stories, made me laugh, fed me and my child, sometimes irked me (I will not lie Russell..hahaha!) some that told me there deepest secrets. There were a few that shared there lives and included me in their own family celebrations, and one that I got a tattoo from. Some that sat with me and gave me great advice and made me laugh and told me that life wasn’t so bad. Some that put there arm around my weary shoulder and told me to keep on keeping on. There were also my two dogs, Brownie & Blackie that I had when I was very small who I have never forgotten and my kitty. Cannot forget them. Never. They gave unconditional love.

Thank you.

Did You Hear That?

I sit here this Sunday morning and muse about the events of yesterday morning spent in an old 1930’s bungalow near the city center of Edmonton. Visiting with the local artisan and her niece was such a delight and we spent a few hours talking naturally of interests that were dear to us, namely art and intuition. It was my second time meeting this sweet lady and revelled in her company and in this house. A house for over time that I drove by and always wondered what it looked like with it’s dilapidated back porch hanging on for dear life. It housed a photography studio and then a hairdresser shop but now this dear lady has her art studio with all her wonderful works there.

We sat in the old dining room with it’s built in cupboards, this after looking over the spacious rooms with her niece, her first time there. Hardwood floors, wood work around each doorway, built in cupboards in kitchen and dining room, roomy closets and that claw tub was to die for! I sound like a realtor pushing but it was a sight to behold. We talked each telling story after story about life experiences. Every once in a while I would have that similar feeling when I am do readings for clients. It’s a definite heaviness in my chest. It’s not uncomfortable but a definiteness there. I would then say to the ladies, “There is a man here wearing a 1940’s style of pants and rolled up shirt sleeves. Large forearms. He is standing in this room.” We would all agree and then continue on with our conversation. Every once in a while we would collectively get up to check out her art and then I would spy children on the stairway, a boy curiously looking at us.Sitting in my chair my sweater was pulled and I felt it on my skin as the artisan remarked that she had seen it move. Again, pretty groovy! I told my friend that I could hear laughter and running, they were so happy. This was a happy household. We all went back to the dining room to resume partaking of the hot coffee and cookies and talking excitedly to each other. It was like meeting up with old friends. As I was saying something we all heard a noise in the kitchen. The owner remarked that it was the top of a container now on the floor. A few minutes later a folded up chair behind the glass doors fell and in turn moved the door. We seen it happen before our eyes. There was no way for that chair to do that, no energy to push it. Continuing on again as if nothing happened. To me, it was pretty cool. Again the artisan wanted to show us something, this after a card on a easel was pushed over, another anomaly in this huge home. As I left the dining room I looked over to the fireplace and seen a brilliant bright light and knew without a doubt Spirit was here. Talking more as we moved from dining room to living room and back again I heard the sound of children running through the kitchen to the back porch which by the way no longer existed. The sound of a back porch screen door as it banged and the mother yelling to keep it shut. By the by the old back porch which had been previously been there was now replaced with a modern deck.

So this is how I spent my day yesterday in this old home that I finally did get to see with it’s past life intact in spirit of course. The artisan had asked me to walk through the house on the first visit which I did but being in an hurry was not to experience the going on’s at that time. I am sure a nice relaxed visit like the one we had where we were talking of mutual interests brought out the lively household where halcyon days were spent with much laughter and loud rambunctious children.

Fall Is Around The Corner!

“Soaring”

How does one begin this paragraph with perhaps, what I did on my summer vacation? For the past year I have been the student of a psychic development class. A class that I found quite by accident or was it? I am the great believer that teachers, mentors of life are put in our path, that situations are made to pique our interest and the day I got into my head looking for a spiritualist church which I did. St Brigid’s fit the ticket for this gal. I felt perfectly at home the first Sunday at there service’s with talk of consciousness, there mission, to introduce the philosophy and science of Spirituality. Add to this, the psychic development class and I was so in!

It has been a whirlwind of extraordinary delights to be with like-minded people such as I and have revelled every week with the different exercises to be done. An untethered woman such as I with no structure of great knowledge of how to use my gifts further has truly opened my eyes to a new world. I may become impatient and want it all now but know that it takes time to learn every step to raising one’s vibration, the belief in spirit, grounding, affirmations, the intent of goodness in my heart to help with messages. And so it is with the summer almost over and with me looking forward to the fall classes, it cannot happen soon enough. True I have been doing this on my own this summer without my classmates if you will, reading books to keep up, reading my tarot cards for myself and others but I know truly that it is spirit that comes through for me, that it has always been in me.

Where have I been!!

It’s been a whirlwind of activity in my part of the world, photographing the Gay Pride Parade in June, was it?

Life is a Parade~

Loved taking the images of this parade, loved the colors and all the imagery! It was a busy day with many people lining the streets for about 12 blocks.

My next foray into the wild of my city brought me to the Wounded Warrior Poker Run to raise funds and awareness for post traumatic stress disorder by a wonderful lady who is walking across Canada. As Kate MacEachern states, “By horse and by foot, our team will cross 3 provinces in 3 months and over 2700 kms. We are fundraising along with generating awareness so please follow us, and get involved – no support is too small!”

Then it onto the Torresan Brothers Memorial Concert to raise funds for a roof of the family that tragically lost there 2 sons in a vehicle accident exactly 2 years ago yesterday. This was held @ a well known medium in our area, Carmel Joy Baird’s ranch. Quite a few people also showed up for this event to partake in readings given to them by Carmel’s student’s as well as the silent auction and entertainment from Colleen Rae, Darrell Barr, Bobby Cameron and Tim Isberg. Fun afternoon it  and busy snapping those images and meeting some new people!Colleen Rae

Mix that into this active life I have is the Brunch for Broads. This idea started back in April 2013 to introduce my old friends to my new friends as we all had something in common. That brunch at Pack Rat Louie’s started with five and has now grown to 455 members! Just getting out for a few hours having lunch and gabbing with the girls is something that we all need every couple of months.
It has also changed from just getting together for lunch to having venues where there is a charity of choice for each hostess that organizes her event with the help of volunteers. We usually have a variety of entertainment to choose from in our city as every one is always willing to help especially when it comes down to a good cause. One of the entertainers stated the other day that they should give our city motto as, “City of Fundraisers!” Our last venue was in June and we were lucky to have three Fire Fighters from the local fire hall to sell 50/50 tickets for Muscular Dystrophy and for entertainment some stand up comedians. So all in all my life is pretty busy and that is the way I like it from Saging someone’s new home to doing photography at a event to some down time with the other half wandering the roads of my province. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Hey Mister, got any Change?!

Change

I have a great neighbor who is always willing to help his friends and family with any odd jobs on there homes. He had bought his own home with the intention of sprucing it up and he has done so but at a slow pace as the man was doing other people’s work. The garage that was erected looks spiffy and the concrete pad was set to be poured…two years ago. He had admitted to me that, that at the end of day all he wanted to do was go in his house and unwind by playing his video games and that everything he had started was now languishing. The half finished yard, the half finished garage and now the pad which concrete has yet to be poured. I had got wind that that job was set to happen this very morning. Very early in fact! Last night he was scurrying around in his back yard in a effort to move dirt that was back there. He had this crazed look on his face. I remarked that it was a tad overwhelming for him but that he had the help of a skid loader from one neighbor and a big dump truck from another man down the street. Pat told me that the man with the skid loader was laid off but he wanted to help out with the pad out there as his last job and a promise to be kept.

Change happens all the time, whether we make the effort to do so and if we don’t then the universe in it’s infinite wisdom does its job, pencil’s you in and sometimes makes it even better than we would have made it. I told Pat that even though it might be inconvenient at this time he still had help coming over, that he was not alone in all this.

Brand New Day

Yesterday I had made a tea date to visit my truly gifted friend, Shaunda Lee for 9:30. Thinking that it was going to be about an hour I was so surprised to look at the clock in her kitchen and find out that many hours had passed and it was close to 3 pm. I consider her to be one of my mentor’s in my journey as is my Auntie Doreen and the information I receive is most precious to me.

We went from one topic to the next as sat and enjoyed her scrumptious cookies and hot tea. I had brought my tarot cards thinking that I would give her a reading and also learn along the way. Well I was correct on the part about learning as it was my first kick at the cat so to speak. (Note: No cats were harmed in this or any production of said tea party!) What happened is that I seen the tarot cards from another perspective and one that I could understand and it all became very clear with her teaching.

My work is to put an hour of instruction about these cards and that is to read for myself which I have already done and to write everything about each card. By the way I am using the celtic cross spread for those of you wondering. Looking forward to tomorrow’s reading and perhaps learning much more of this spiritual world which I am so ready to receive. And let’s not forget to be so thankful!DSCN7385

The Boys

“A few years back I had a dream of a maze inside a gray building. I could hear excited voices and them saying, “She’s here!” It seemed as all night long people that had passed came out of the door to greet me, so happy they were. I remember seeing Kenny and Rob together, excited that I could see them. Kenny talking up a storm and Rob very quiet. When I awoke from this I was quite tired from the all night “party” but lifted from this visit. Another has gone this week and I am sad to hear of his passing. He was a kind and gentle friend who always took the time to give me that big old bear hug and listen to my stories which were many. He had a smile that lit up the room and a wise wisdom to his demeanour. His was the idea to have my angel wings rings made for me and that I wear proudly. Sleep with angels my friend.~”

And so it was that someone close to our circle of friends has gone on. He had had a diagnosis of cancer many years ago and I look at the years in between that he had accumulated. We all thought that then he was going to pass and we were so happy when he came back from the doctors with an all clear.

I know that I have talked of my dream’s and the visitations. Those started happening to me as far back as I could remember. I know as a child I had night terrors and many vivid dreams and I really needed someone to listen to me, but alas and alack, it was not to be. Add to that the story teller I became and a big wonderment to my Mother who may or may not have believed some of my tall tales of the things I seen or what was going to happen. She didn’t know what to do with me. I didn’t know what to do with me. Too funny now when you think of it. Now in my later years I feel comfortable in my skin learning more about the gift which we all have and how to use it. I hang out with like minded people who soothe my soul. I delight in my world and it is at times like this with the passing of a great friend that I can find solace that he is healed and may one day come to visit. And add to that is probably with the boys, Kenny and Rob and in good company.

Ebb & Flow

IMGP6412 (2)Loyal, trustworthy, loving, caring, fun, witty, adventurous, all attributes of a wonderful friend. From the time we are small children we meet with like minded people that we love to hang around with. As a child I had a crew of best buddies who nutured our friendship with sleepovers and penny arcades, trips to the local swimming pool, baseball, football games we played until it was too dark to see. Camping out with them and walking through the woods with not a plan in mind but looking forward to the day and see what we could get ourselves into. The years go by and we enter high school and now we meet other new people. But isn’t that what life is about. The ebb and flow of the tide. Yes there have been some that have stayed and are still around and then some gone. They moved on, I moved on. I can say though through thick and thin there have been some that have been there for me and I for them. Even with all there stuff, they are there through the good and the bad. We could not see each other for years and pick up where we left off because that is what we do. And then there are some that are the constant in our daily lives. I am grateful, yes I am for the people that I have formed friendships with and the lessons I have been taught and will continue to learn. Because as the song goes, that is what friends are for.
